Source: Commodore Format – Issue Number 27 – December 1992
Despite the Commodore 64 being known largely as a game machine, there were no game specific magazines for the Commodore 64 in the U.S. that I am aware of. There were several Commodore 64 magazines and they did cover games, extensively at times, but they were always targeted towards more serious usage. On the other hand, there were a couple of popular Commodore 64 gaming magazines in the U.K. Commodore Format was one of those. The December 1997 issue includes:
Games
- Crystal Kingdom Dizzy – There were a series of popular platform games in the U.K. featuring the character Dizzy. Crystal Kingdom was the first one programmed specifically for the Commodore 64.
- Bully’s Sporting Darts – A computerized version of darts. Probably better off spending a bit of extra money on a real dart board.
- Crazy Cars 3 – Race around the U.S. It looks quite a bit like Outrun but the graphics don’t seem to be quite as good. The environments are quite varied though.
- Psycho’s Soccer Selection – A collection of several soccer games. Some are OK, some are not.
- Locomotion – A puzzle game in which you have to guide trains to their correct station.
