This is a mythology episode and a continuation of the previous episode, “Two Fathers”. This episode combined with the previous one served to at least partially wrap up the alien conspiracy story-line that had been running throughout the series.
This episode revolves largely around the struggle between forces that would reveal the successful creation of an alien human hybrid to the aliens so colonization could begin and those that would prevent it. The climax of the episode has multiple forces rushing to a hanger to bring about one of these conclusions. As the syndicate arrives to await the aliens, reveal the hybrid, and reunite with their families, the rebel aliens arrive and kill all the members of the syndicate. Only the Cigarette Smoking Man and Fowley escape as they were late to arrive.
While this episode hardly resolves the whole story arc (you are still left wondering what the next step is…both the aliens and the rebels are still out there), it does resolve a lot of things including some of the motives of the CSM. I would give this episode 4/5 stars.
