    Neo Ranga from Girls of Gaming Volume 3

    Above is Neo Ranga from Girls of Gaming volume 3. Neo Ranga is an anime television series about three orphaned sisters who inherit a god called, you guessed it, Neo Ranga. Nothing unusual there I guess. Neo Ranga started in 1998 and lasted two seasons for a total of 48 episodes.

    As far as I am aware, Neo Ranga has no video game based on it. So then why is it in “Girls of Gaming”? Well, Girls of Gaming is a spinoff of sorts of Play Magazine. Play Magazine, while emphasizing gaming also covered comics, anime and other stuff. So really, it’s more like “Girls of Gaming, Anime, Comics and Other Stuff” but they just didn’t call it that.

  • MegaCon 2006: Anime Costume Contest

    The anime costume contest at MegaCon 2006.

    This used to be the main costume contest at MegaCon before being replaced by a more “professional” and more general costume contest. Though this one was anime-centric, there were the occasional costumes from video games, sci-fi, fantasy or comics. There is still an anime costume contest at MegaCon but it is much smaller now.

  • MegaCon 2002: Anime Costume Contest

    The anime costume contest sponsored by Anime Sushi at MegaCon 2002 in Orlando, Florida. The main costume contest at MegaCon has become much more professional but also…more boring. I enjoyed it more back when this was the main (costume) event. This video was recorded on February 23rd, 2002 at the Orange Count Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
