This episode continues the mythology arc started in the season 6 episode finale. As what is really the second part of a three part episode it is somewhat difficult not to review them together.
This episode more or less continues where the previous season finale left off. It starts off with Scully is out on the coast of Africa somewhere investigating what seems to be a crashed alien spaceship half washed up on shore. Mulder is still losing his mind but is able to become somewhat normal with certain injections. At this point, the new alien mythology arc seems to be exploring the ancient astronaut theory that aliens are really the origin of life on Earth.
Except for the seemingly contrived nature of Mulder’s sickness, it is a pretty good episode much like the previous one. As such, I would give it 4/5 stars.
