  • MegaCon 2012: Frenchy and the Punk (2) – House of Cards

Frenchy and the Punk performs “House of Cards” at MegaCon 2012 in Orlando, Florida.

Their web page describes them as “a Euro-American Acoustic Alternative post-punk cabaret duo”. Broadly speaking, they also fit nicely into the Steampunk genre. This is one of my favorite songs of theirs.

This video was recorded by my at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida on February 18th, 2012.

  • MegaCon 2012: Frenchy and the Punk (1) – Isis Rising

Frenchy and the Punk performs “Isis Rising” at MegaCon 2012 in Orlando, Florida.

Their web page describes them as “a Euro-American Acoustic Alternative post-punk cabaret duo”. Not to try to pingeon-hole them or anything but broadly speaking I would say they fit into the category of Steampunk.

  • MegaCon 2012: Tom Felton

Tom Felton at a panel at MegaCon 2012 in Orlando, Florida. Though he has gone on to do other things, he is still best known for his role as Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies.

This was my first year using my new video camera (and it is still the one I use 11 years later). Previously, I had been using a Sony Digital 8 camcorder so I still needed tapes and only got DVD equivalent resolution. This one is a Sony HDRCX13. It uses SD cards and features 1080P resolution at up to 60FPS. It looks like you can still buy these new on Amazon.

I’d like to get a 4K video camera (mainly for the optical zoom capabilities, otherwise my phone would be fine). However, an equivalent 4K camera to what I have costs $800-$1000 and I don’t want to spend that much. There are really cheap 4K cameras (I’ve seen a Vivitar for less than $100) but I have my doubts about the quality. 1080P is good enough for now.
