The One Amiga (September 1995)

Source: The One Amiga – Issue Number 83 – September 1995

The One is a computer gaming magazine that was published in the U.K. Originally, it covered the PC, Atari ST and the Amiga. However, it eventually shifted focus to just Amiga games and even changed its name to mention the Amiga. In 1995 only the Amiga was covered (The Amiga 500/600, Amiga 1200 and CD32 according to the cover) and the September 1995 issue includes:

Those Early Bits

  • Boot Sector – The cover disks this month include the complete game of Trolls.
  • News – Commodore went bankrupt in 1994 but according to the news in this issue they were back in business producing multimedia PCs. This must not have lasted very long. Also, new releases for the Amiga and CD32 include Tiny Troops, Flight of the Amazon Queen, Primal Rage, and more.

WiPS (Work in Progress)

  • Primal Rage – A detailed preview of this dinosaur fighting game.
  • Pinball Mania – A preview of this video pinball game featuring four different tables.
  • Hollywood Hustler – A poker game featuring digital video and voice.

Reviews

  • Brutal – A Street Fighter II-like fighting game featuring furries…I mean cartoon animals.
  • Whizz – A cartoony, isometric adventure game.
  • Fears – What appears to be a decent Doom clone.
  • Turbo Trax – A racing game with 25 different courses that is played from an overhead point of view. You only see the part of the track near you so it is something more like RC Pro Am than Super Spring or Off Road.
  • Obsession – A video pinball game featuring four or five tables (depending on the version). It does not really stand out from other video pinball games.

Guide Special

  • Super Streetfighter – Tips for Super Streetfighter II on the Amiga.
  • Virocop – Tips for Virocop, including a complete map of the game.

…and more!
