Elder Samuel Underwood was ordained in 1872 as a Separate Baptist minister. He has served since that time faithfully, and has been the means of leading many souls to Christ. He is yet living, is about fifty years old, and has the pastoral care of four churches at this time.
Elder L. C. Warren has been in the service about five years, with fine success. He is about forty-two years old, and a resident of LaRue county, Kentucky.
Elder J. B. Atwell has been in the service a short time as an active minister. He is quite young--we don't know how old he is. He is a resident of Green county, Kentucky.

Our community was full of visitors last Saturday and Sunday, who came to attend the foot-washing at Zion church. Those whose names we have obtained are Mr. Tom Price and wife, of Gleanings; Mr. Wm Franklin and wife, of Pitman; Mr. Everett Nelson and wife, of Hodgenville; Mr. J. H. Philpott and family, of Saloma, Mr. Jack Nelson and family of Enoch; Mr. Henry Davis, of Saloma; Mr. Jim Price of New Hope; Miss Virgie Shipp, of Willowtown, and Mr. E. Shofner and wife. One of the largest crowds that has ever been at Zion church was there to hear the Rev. S. Underwood preach upon the subject of foot-washing. He took for his text, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth." -- Romans 1:16
