Lord Henry was an abusive husband. These 2 facts earned her the nickname of "Poor Lady Alice." Following the birth of her second child, she was unable to conceive again. Lord Henry began cheating on her, and in 1127 took an almost unheard action of seeking a divorce using her inability to have more children as the basis. Lord Herny did remarry, but he fell off a horse and broke his neck. His 2nd marriage was then annulled as it had never been leagally consummated. Lady Alice was named as Regent for her son, Lord Robert until he reached his age of majority in 1144. Lady Alice died of consumption in 1165. Lady of Lathom/Regent
