It started in 1998 as &#8216;boot&#8217; but was soon renamed to Maximum PC. It was published up until just a few years ago. AMD moved up their announcement date a couple of times to beat Intel to the bunch by a couple of days. They seemed to also have production systems ready ahead of Intel also but it was close.
