I finally got around to acquiring a 5.25&#8243; disk drive and extracting the contents a several years back. Since then, I have been occasionally posting the content here.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the contents, at least some of these disks were apparently once owned by someone named Connie who used to run the \u201cClose Encounters\u201d Special Interest Group (SIG) on Delphi in the mid 1980s.<\/p>\n<p>A description of this SIG was found in a document on one of the disks: &#8220;This SIG, known as &#8216;Close Encounters&#8217;, is a forum for the discussion of relationships that develop via computer services like the Source, CompuServe, and Delphi. Our primary emphasis is on the sexual aspects of those relationships.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This service was text based and was accessed via whatever terminal program you used on your computer to dial in to Delphi\u2019s servers. Many of these disks have forum messages, e-mails and chat session logs. All of this is pre-internet stuff and I don\u2019t know if there are any archives in existence today of what was on Delphi in the 1980s. It includes a poll question and results. The question asked is &#8220;Do you think men have a &#8216;time of the month&#8217;?&#8221; This same poll appeared in a previous document regarding polls but this one appears more up to date as it has more votes. However\n\n\n\n   most men will admit that periodically they suffer the \"blues\" for unexplained\n\n\n\n   reasons &lt;as well as suffering other very similar feelings that women go thru&gt;.\nI CAN ONLY SPEAK FOR MYSELF, BUT I DISAGREE.  I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DISCERN ANY\n   DES IN MYSELF OR THE OTHER MEN THAT I DEAL WITH REGULARLY.\nIn a purely physical sense it is obvious that males biologically experience\n   nothing on the scale that menstruating women due though both sexes do have\n   times when they are \"blue\" and this is of course brought on by many factors,\n   though mostly attributed to menstruation in women, often\nIt would seem so in some cases but suspect the causes are: Bills, Quotas,\n   Meetings, Goals not met, etc  Isuspect time of occurrance would coicide with\n   the first AND fifteenth of the month!\nDefinitely. But it's 45 days long. I do research into this stuff as a\n   biologist.They also have a time of the year. Late summer \/early fall...\n   testosterone runs\n\nVOTE on this poll?
