Message-ID: <1592@rpp386.UUCP> Date: 7 May 88 23:27:52 GMT Organization: Big "D" Home for Wayward Hackers Lines: 18 there is this file, /usr/lib/uucp/L_stat, on this system which is of the format system time ## where system is a uucp system name, time is a long integer time, and ## is some unknown number. this is the old style uucp on SCO Xenix 2.2.1. what i want to know is, what does ## represent? i talk to about 500 different systems per month and would like some way of knowing when/what/etc is going on. in particular, i'd like to know the number of systems which i have successfully had a conversation with in the past day/week/month. the time field gives something that looks like a time, however, it is updated even if the conversation is not successful, or no connection is made. all help is welcome ... - john.
