I have put a little preliminary thought work into an IFF format for
supporting a Hypertext type data structure. So far, most of my thoughts
have led to a random access format, mainly because I expect the file to
be larger that available memory. Here are some of the thoughts I had:

The file reader would scan through the file looking for labels
(or tags). The positions of these labels would be saved. This task
could be done with a background task.

There would be data associated with the labels, such as how to
put requestors on the screen and when a requestor is selected, what
new label we go to. After selection data, the actual data is
supplied in an older IFF format (such as ILBM).

I haven't gotten much further, real work tends to take a large bite out
of my spare time (oh how I wish this could be real work 8-).
