I hope someone out there has an answer for this one. I'm the SA for a
Unisys (Sperry) 5000/80. Last week I went to do some volcopies for file
systems on the 5000. The first file system I intended to volcopy called for
three reels. I used the following labelit command to put internal labels on
the tapes :
	labelit /dev/rmt/c0d0h work 0272 -n (different tape #'s for next 2
						tapes, of course)

This worked as wxpected. After labelling the three tapes, I then used labelit
as follows to verify the labels :

	labelit /dev/rmt/c0d0h

Again, everything was as expected. The next file system called for two reels.
I used labelit as follows to label the two reels :

	labelit /dev/rmt/c0d0h sup 8019 -n	(different tape # for 2nd tape,
						   of course).

Next, I used labelit as follows to verify the labels :

		labelit /dev/rmt/c0d0h

*this* time, however, at the end of the displayed label, I got the following :

"illegal blocksize=512"

After several tries with different tapes, etc., I continued to get the same
results. I decided to go ahead and try the volcopy to see what would happen.
At the end of the volcopy, the following was displayed :

END
100048 blocks

This volcopy was done on a file system whose partition size is 50024 blocks.
The indications are that the volcopy was done using blocksize of 512 instead
of 1024 blocks. I have yet to dare to try and restore this file system. If
memory serves me correctly, we had this problem on our Gould 6032 about two
years ago. Unfortunately, I don't remember how we corrected it. I would
*really* appreciate any help anyone may be able to offer !
