We just started beta test on a port of Bind 4.7.3 to DOS PCs.  We speed-
tested it on an 8Mhz AT, resolving cached names about 20% slower than
our Microvax II.  Because of O/S limitations, we couldn't include the
Berkeley mechanism for doing zone transfers.  If people need it, we can
try to do something when/if we port 4.8 (which of course depends on
how this one sells...).

I don't know of anyone else doing anything like this (although we aren't
the only vendor to offer an emulation of Berkeley sockets on the PC).
