I think the sequence might go something like this: JOIN B: A:\DRIVEB makes B: a subdirectory of A: SET ARCTEMP=A:\DRIVEB have ARC work use B: without even realizing it... ARC X ARFCILE (chug, chug, chug) JOIN B: /d un-join drive B: from A: Let me know if this works... I'm just extrapolating what I've done with my machine. (Alternatively you might have a ramdisk that you could JOIN to A: instead of your second floppy..) keith
