Message-ID: <2851@phoenix.Princeton.EDU> Date: 11 May 88 03:22:32 GMT Organization: Princeton University, NJ Lines: 21 Hello everyone. I have an Alphacom Aero printer, which basically emulates an Epson MX-80. The parallel port is basically standard Centronics. It works fine when connected to my C64 thru a serial-to-parallel converter, but I can't get it to work with the Amiga through the parallel port. I built the cable just by getting out the pinouts of the Amiga and printer-end ports, running D0-D8 straight through, and connecting DRDY, ACK, BUSY, POUT, SEL, RESET, and signal ground to their counterparts on the other end. It still refuses to work with WordPerfect. I haven't tried just LISTing a file to it from AmigaBasic, but I suspect that won't work either. Is a parallel cable supposed to do much more than just feed signals through? What am I doing wrong? Thanks. -Keith Mancus(Please email in addition to or instead of posting; I don't always have time to read the news before it disappears.)
