Most sites typically install the fake-inews in /usr/local and make sure that Pnews, postnews and friends use the fake inews on the clients and the real inews (typically, /usr/lib/news/inews) on the server ONLY. The most common mistake made by people trying to do this "hybird" system is over writing the "REAL" inews with the "FAKE" inews. This is not a sun-specific problem.
