John, I agree that the alt.groups weren't created to serve as the
trashcan of the net (I can't speak for what the old-bone thinks the
alt.groups are for, but ....).  However, I'd favor a newsgroup we
could name alt.president, in which I, Kent, or any other fool could
run for president, outline their shadow cabinet (If I use Dr. Tim in
the FDA, who do I get for Education -- T. Nelson, S. Pappert, or M. St.
James?), post State of the Union messages, and otherwise cavort,
commentate, and satirize.

Call it alt.politics.humor, or something like that, if you don't like
alt.president.  But I argue NO! to alt.birthright, YES!! to
alt.president, or alt.political.parties, or something similar.
