I have over 400 disks formatted double-sided. Over 90% of them are Sony single-sided. Out of all the SS formatted as DS, only 4 of the Sonys have failed on me. I've tried this with other brands and generics (many that are suppost to be "made by Sony"), but with significantly higher failure rates on all of them. (Disclaimer: This info only covers using 3.5" disks with an Atari ST.
