I am using the 4024C Script dialer for my operation. I also use an US Robotics in the AT command set mode. It seem that UUCP while looking for the Device Dialer tries to to see if an device is available it polls Carrier detect to see if it comes high (+) for a micro second. I have the AT type Modem working by pulling DTR and CD together. ANd setting the port for Bidirectional porting. The only problem is that your machine (The one with the At style modem) will not disconnect. It would require close attention. I rather have the AT&T 4024 modem. If you need the Dialer Script let me know
