There are other problems involved here -- How does a user release the
tape drive?  What happens if the user never does release the drive,
but logs out?  We started dealing with this issue, and came up with
having an inferior shell running under the tape-mount program.  When
you exit that shell, or the tape-mount program exits, then a daemon
takes the drive back.
