And with success: the IMI drives (at least the one of the two I tried) worked. It formatted out to about 15Mb (that was the last I tried) with similar parameters to the Seagate ST506 parameters provided with bmsinit.prg, but with 6 heads and double the amount of cylinders (I think.) However, right now I am using a MiniScribe 20Mb that a friend loaned me (more capacity, smaller, faster.) I have encountered an interesting problem, however... After trying to download an archive with Uniterm 1.7b, then trying to download a uuencoded file, Uniterm gives me this nonsense about "Disk Write failed: No space on disk" crap. Well, I think, this is not right; there is only around 2.2Mb on my 10Mb C: partition. Sure enough, however, on returning back to the desktop and checking with "Show Info", GEMDOS tells me that 0 bytes are available and 2.2Mb are used. What gives? If you get this mail, respond quickly, I plead. This is finals week at OSU and Thursday 12/10 I depart for my beloved home of NE Ohio :-) If you have any info about this bug, please post or e-mail me. Also, if anyone has TURTLE, the hd backer-upper or HINSTALL, which was mentioned a couple postings ago, *plueeease* e-mail, if possible.
