I realize that the ones most likely to be able to answer this are the folks at
Commodore but just in case...
I was wondering if there is some address space large enough to take the 68881
but not any where that would need to be auto-configured or would conflict with
anything else present or future. I'm into number crunching on occasion and I
thought it might be nice to build a small card that would plug in to the cpu
socket, take a 68881 as well and only have a pal or two for address decoding.
I'm sure there are many fine products out that give access to an '881 but I'm
the ulimate cheap-skate. Thanks to friend Steve I have access to tools that
would make this a small undertakeing (if I can come up with a geometry that
will fit in the case).
