THE EDITOR that I would recommend is Epsilon from Lugaru Software Ltd.
It is basically an Emacs and it just does EVERYTHING. You can edit
virtually unlimited number of files simultaneously and you can open a
process buffer to run other programs. For example, you can have your
file been compiled and linked while you are editing another file.
Macro are easy to define and saved and the editor comes with a C like
language EEL with which your can modified your editor into virtually
anything you like.

Epsilon behaves fairly with TSR's. I have SideKick and Lightning
and some other TSR's and I never have any problem.
