On a cgfour, Xsun will use both the monochrome and color
screens as if they were two separate screens side-by-side.
Sliding the mouse off the left and right edges will swap
     screens.

mine came up in monochrome mode fine, but i found that the cursor would
not move off any of the edges to reveal the color screen. the deficiency
was that /dev/cgone0 did not exist. however, now that i have the color
screen, i can't figure out how to get a window in it. my console window,
clock, etc, are all in the monochrome window. suggestions?
