Let's face it: Apple screwed over the Lisa and early Mac owners. They had the choice of either letting their machines become orphans, or paying exhorbitant fees to upgrade... some Lisa owners paid 2-3 times. YOU might be able to consider a $ 2000 payment amortized over 3 years, but that's a lot more than I can afford to pay for microcomputer hardware, especially when you don't get any tangible benefits, other than the ability to run the software you were led to expect to get in the first place.
