We have been using the OKIDATA Laserline 6, since last May wiht both Amigas and
IBM PC, with very good results. I use WordPerfect on the Amiga, and by
using the 6 "printer letters" I have access to all built in fonts, which
are much more than what you get on a HP Laser+ or Laser II. Preferences
and Notepad support the HP+, so that is not a problem. As far as desktop
publishing is concerned, currently only CityDesk supports the HP+ and
therefore the Laserline. I have seen the output and it looks very good.
CLtd also has a package "Jetset" to download fonts and will also sell
you fonts in a variety of typefaces and sizes. They are usable
by both CityDesk and WordPerfect. The nice thing about the LaserLine 6
is its price/performance. I believe it was voted as best buy by both
InfoWorld and Computer Shopper. While the list price is $1795, one can
find it much discounted. We got our for about $1200. I believe it is
now much more discounted. Tech. support is great! We got a free $120
cleaning kit, just because we called and reported a minor problem.
Also XEROX services it all over the US. All in all, in my opinion,
The Okidata Laserline 6 is the best buyif you need laser printing on
the Amiga, without shelling out $4000 for a postscript printer. The
issue that you could not print the 300dpi files at 1000dpi, now seems
to be resolved with HP licensing a third party to convert 300dpi HP+
documents to the higher resolution.

These comments are from a satisfied user, with no connection with Okidata.

P.S.:
The 512K memory expansion is VERY recommended when printing graphics.
