Lines: 29 Summary: Can't boot from the hard disk. References: Today I tried to install the New System and Multifinder package from Apple on a Color Mac II with an internal 40MB Apple drive After the installation the monitor flashes, briefly shows a checkerboard like pattern and then gives the questioning floppy disk icon. Basically, something is still looking for the old system and the machine will not boot from the hard disk. Works fine off a floppy. Can anyone suggest a cure? I suspect that the CDEV (Sp?) KOLOR which I picked off a Bulletin Board has somehow remained installed and is somehow interfering with the bootup procedure. Any suggestions? As a last resort I intend to reformat the disk and restore the system from backup floppies.
