   It's nice to see more news about birdwatching  appearing on the network.
I agree that late January or early February would be best for Amherst and
Wolfe Islands.We've had an astonishing invasion of Snowy Owls this fall--50
were counted at the dump a few weeks ago and I had 10 visible at one time
in my binoculars on Saturday.
   There are now about 100 Common Black-Headed Gulls overwintering at a lake
in town along with 3 Eurasian Widgeon.I had 7 species of Gulls while driving
into work this morning---Herring,Great Black-Backed,Ring-Billed,Iceland,
Glaucous,Mew,Black-Headed.Some days,Lesser Black-Backed is also there.
