Thanks to all 50+ of you who responded about my VAX mail problem
Sorry if I was not able to thank you all inividually, but I was
unable to send mail to certain addresses.
To summarize: My problem delt with the new mail counter being out-of-sync
with the TRUE value.
The answer: It seems all that is needed is to use the VAX mail command
READ/NEW Someone stated that this was implemented in VMS version 4.4.
I don't know if it's true, because we have version 4.5....

as for HOW my problem was created, it was INDEED because of my compressing
my main mail file down, while I received a new mail message.
This is contrary to everybodies reasons for my problems.

I thank you all again.
Greg Welych.

PS: When you send anything to info-vax, do you get a bunch of mail messages
from mailers saying they can't do such-and-such for so-and-so reason?
