Summary: Ramdisk Prototype

The prototype kit will be a chip that talks directly to the hard disk
port and controls either 256k or 1MEG chips. Also there will be a pcb that
sits 256k chips of 1/4 meg increments upto 2 MEG. Basically you add rams,
power supply and a case.
It was decided to make the pcb for 256K chips because of availability.
I get ten chips back for the first fab.

The design is in progress. The company doing the fab, Alberta Microelectronics
Center has a bunch of rules that have to be followed before actual fab takes
place, i.e. a dicrete prototype, chip simulation, blah.

One the most costly things of this kit will be a power supply. Seems one
of the best things to do is by an Atari power supply. There pretty cheap.

Soon, I will post a spec on the chip. I listened to all who sent mail,
thus, I think I'm doing this right. The chip can handle lots of
memory, you can still hook up your hard disks, the pcb has hooks
for battery backup, and whatever.
