From Northern California (Bay Area) to Southern California (LA) there are
two main arteries between the two. One is I5, that straight stretch of
road where you can read a book and take your hands off the wheel for 15
minutes at a time without looking up, doing 75+ and not have to worry
about hitting anything cause everyone is passing you and the road doesn't move.
The other is 101 where you have to look up more often (Actually look through
the roof for flying CHiPs) and you have to take it down to 65+ to drive in
the slow lane...

Of course if your on 101 in San Jose where 280 crosses, you are doing 5mph
if your lucky... LA has its areas like that too... I just happen to live
halfway between the two in San Luis Obispo (SLO town) and they added a new
lane to most of the freeway (101) here in town so us locals had a fighting
chance to get into the traffic flow.

Speeding around here is normal for most folks and taking most turns at up
to twice the posted recommended speed is normal for those who don't drive
Mac trucks, Vans, or something that is top heavy (Although these people DO
make a galant effort). Just keep to your side of the road and don't stick
your hand out the window and you'll make it just fine...

I don't even want to START getting involved with San Fransisco Hill driving.
Just have to mention that when my Dad wanted me to learn driving, it became
a sink or swim type of thing when he stopped on market street and said,
'Its all yours, get us out of town...' (AAARRRGGGHHH!)
