I have only found one disk cache program that works with ms-dos 3.1x,
discache(pd, available via anon ftp from clutx.clarkson.edu, pub/discache.arc).
Vcache didn't work properly because of a bug in Zenith's ms-dos 3.1x (try
int 25 on a non-asgnpart'ed partition). According to Golden Bow, Zenith's
ms-dos 3.1x can bypass int 16 to read/write the disk, a definate nono. Seems
that they fixed it in 3.2. I suspect that MCache suffers from the same
problem.
