Actually, I think it's more likely that they (the ones on the net, anyway) get a boot out of baiting people, then watching with glee as the indignant counter-flames roll in...it's a common net.ailment known as "Eric Mading Disease", or alternatively, "Grand-Mal Weaseldom". This disease, while exhibiting strikingly similar symptoms, is unrelated to the well-known "Ray Frank Syndrome", in which the victim actually *is* posessed of the incredibly stupid belief in question. This malady is widespread among creationists, "Kill the Druggies" advocates, and assorted other dogmatic weenies (not to be confused with dogmatic Wieners!) There is no known (permanent) cure for either ailment. (I have a feeling that being dragged by one's nuts behind an Oldsmobile at ~100mph might do the trick, but this conjecture has yet to be tested.) Victims of Eric Mading disease (notable recent cases include "Bird Dog" and the prototype himself, E.M.) have been known to exhibit spontaneous remissions of a year or longer, only to reappear with ever-increasing obnoxiousness and volume. Diagnosis should NOT be attempted except by EXPERIENCED NETTERS! Writing to their system administrator (or telling them to stick their head in a pig) is usually ineffective, but may make *you* feel better. A goot shot of nitrous can also help in that respect...I keep a canister by the terminal at all times! *whooooosh!* yes, much better indeed...ahhhhhhh! *giggle* -- Jim Lewis (Criminal Drug Analyst) U.C.
