I am using Sun's version of BSD, SunOS 3.x. In their setup, there are a
number of symbolic links with relative pathnames. I have a couple of
questions about this:

1. What, precisely, are the semantics of a relative pathname as the target
of a symbolic link?

2. Where in the FMs could I have learned the answer to this question? I will
accept references to Berkeley manuals as well as Sun ones.
