The problem arises because the desktop file construction builds lots of resources and resources don't use the temporary memory allocation stuff. The solution is to boot Finder instead of MultiFinder (hold down command when booting) That way all the memory will be allocated to the Finder and the build will complete successfully. You can then start MultiFinder by CommandOption opening it. -- David W.
