2.{9,10} Bsd vi has the same problem.  However, it doesn't redraw correct-
ly with ^L.  I use ':p' or something similar to cause vi I to print
"press return to continue" - the screen is okay after that.

The problem is caused when a character in the last column of the line
at the bottom of the screen causes an autowrap.  At least for my version
of Unix, if there is white space at the end of the line, the problem
does not occur.  It seems it should be possible to fiddle with the auto-
wrap on the terminal, or else with the autowrap field of the termcap,
to fix the problem, but I have had no luck.
