I believe that the "trojan horse" that the professor was discussing was
the infamous "cookie monster" program. (The program woke up every so 
often, demanding "COOKIE." If you didn't type in "COOKIE," it destroyed 
what you were doing). Although I've never seen that one, we had a case
where someone created a system process that periodically spewed out
valentine's day messages. The name of the process was only one character
different from a legitimate system process, so it was very difficult to
detect. It didn't hurt anything, and was rather cute. (Of course, we are
an OS lab, so it was fairly easy to do...)
