If anyone is interested, I have ELM1.7 running on a '286. The only changes
that I had to make was to rewrite error and PutLine so that the used varargs.

If anyone is interested in these pathces, please drop me a line.

I would have just posted the diffs, but in my haste to implement I changed
all of the calls to error[1-4] to errorV and calls to PutLine[1-?] to
PutLineV, I later realized this is a very bad idea, since several people
that use ELM are probably running on systems with access to neither varargs.h
nor stdargs.h. So if there is a low volume of requests I will send them
patches, but if the volume is high enough, I will go back and do it right
with #ifdef VARARG commands.
