I am looking for a protocol suitable for switched circuit operation over several different telephone systems, both strategic and tactical. I need help in identifying a communications protocol suitable for non-dedicated public switched telephone networks with the following characteristics and capabilities: a. Synchronous b. Full duplex c. 8 data bit full 255 character set transparent data transfer d. At least 16 bit CRC for error detection and correction e.
