I am proud to officially announce that the INFO-HZ100 Public Domain
Library is now ready and waiting for ANONYMOUS FTP from Internet Sites
on SIMTEL20.ARPA in PD1:. There is (11) 360K disks worth of
ARChived Z-100 programs and information currently stored which expand
out to about 27 disks of UNARChived files. There are lots of new
programs, updated old programs, and information files.
Many INFO-HZ100 subscribers are thanked for submitting their works to
the PD LIB and sharing them with others. Everyone has something to
share so please feel guilty if you haven't submitted anything yet.
0HZPDLIB.DOC 15-AUG-87
This collection contains program and information files for the Zenith Z-100
(Heath H-100) series computer system as provided by the INFO-HZ100 Public
Domain Library.
INFO-HZ100 is one of several major electronic mailing list interest groups
that are available worldwide over the ARPA Internet (TCP/IP based
interconnected computer networks: ARPAnet, MILnet, etc.) and gatewayed
into several mail networks (BITnet, CSnet, UUCP, MAILnet, etc.).
INFO-HZ100 is a forum for discussion concerning topics related to the
Zenith Z-100 (Heath H-100) family of professional desktop computers.
Messages are forwarded for immediate redistribution to the main list.
Distribution is limited to one central mailbox per site.
Periodically, useful knowledge and items generated from the list and other
random sources will be edited into a newsletter for distribution to both
network and non-network interested groups. Any comments, suggestions,
help, knowledge, software, ideas, etc., would be greatly appreciated.
A Public Domain library of H/Z-100 software, newsletters, and other related
items is available from ARPA Internet sites by anonymous FTP from
SIMTEL20.ARPA. The PD LIB is also available on disks by USnail for
non-Internet users. Public Domain software donations are gladly accepted!

These Public Domain programs are designed to run under MS-DOS V2 or higher
on the Zenith Z-100. Zenith does not support Z-DOS and most of these
programs may be damaging to run under Z-DOS. If you don't have MS-DOS V2
or higher, you better get it.
BASIC programs are saved in ASCII format for ease of conversion to ZBASIC
and other systems. It is recommended to SAVE each program without the ',A'
option to save the BASIC program in the proper tokenized format. This will
also decrease future loading time.
All of the INFO-HZ100 PD LIB files except this 0HZPDLIB.DOC file are in
ARChive format. The files were ARCed using PKWARE's PKARC V3.5 in 'old
compatibility' mode and may be extracted ('unARCed') with PKWARE's PKXARC
or SEA's ARC program.
These programs have been carefully screened as "Public Domain" and may be
freely copied but not sold. No warranty, expressed or implied, with
respect to these programs as to the quality, performance, or fitness for
use is made. Enjoy them!!!
Cheers,
Gern

upward compatible with SEA's ARC program, but is many
times faster. PKXARC is a FAST! ARChive extractor. An
ARChive file binds individual files together in a
compressed format. Files in an ARChive may be
extracted, deleted, listed, etc. It is a very efficient
method to store related files in a space-saving format.
Executing PKARC35 will self extract the PKARC programs
for use.

These programs have been superceded in MS-DOS with
ARChive programs such as PKARC.
LS.ARC LS is an MS-DOS version of the UN*X ls command. It will
(Disk #02) list the files of a directory in a short or long form.
The long form will display sizes, attributes and last
write date/time. Many options exist for varying the
information displayed. Includes C source code for
CI-C86 or DeSmet C compilers.
MAKE.ARC MAKE simplifies the building of programs by allowing the
(Disk #11) build sequence and dependencies to be specified in a
file so that the command "make" will build the program
and only the pieces which need to be rebuilt will be.
Includes C source code for the CI-C86 C compiler.
NMAKE.ARC Another version of MAKE. This version allows macro
(Disk #09) definitions and can handle LIB files. Includes C source

input (or the given file), generates a smooth curve
through the points, and writes to the standard output
the data points from the smooth curve. Includes C
source.

(Disk #03) commonly used for locating strings in a binary file and
is handy for detecting "gotcha" kinds of messages that
are often left in Trojan Horse programs.
TEKPLOT.ARC Contains three programs and sources. PLOTTER, TEKVIEW,
(Disk #05) and TEKPLOT are a set of plotting and viewing utilities
which use the Tektronix 4010 plot format. PLOTTER
will take either a file in ASCII format or input from
the keyboard which contains data and plotting
instructions, and output plot commands in Tek 4010
format. This is similar to the UN*X utility "graph", or
even more similar to the Cyber utility "plotter".
TEKVIEW will display a file containing Tek 4010 plot
commands on the Z-100 screen in 400x640 mode. TEKPLOT
will read a file containing Tek 4010 plot commands and
translate them into plot commands for a Radio Shack
FP-215 flat bed plotter connected to the parallel port.
Two example data files are provided. Includes C sources
for the CI-86 C compiler.

ambiguous file names, history substitution, multiple
commands on one command line, etc. Includes C sources
for the AZTEC C compiler.

(Disk #02) the current directory and allows you to view them or tag
them for mass copy or deletion. Includes C source code

to help you get set up.
ZANSI.ARC ZANSI.DVD is an (working!) ANSI console driver for the
(Disk #02) Z-100 which can be used to interpret ANSI control
sequences. This driver has several advantages over the
driver for the Z-100 as supplied by Zenith.

(Disk #10) Zenith Data Systems Bulletin Board. This has lots of
useful information in it concerning Zenith's full
product line of computer systems.
ZMISC1.ARC Contains several miscellaneous files for the Z-100.
(Disk #07) Refer to 00README.DOC for complete file descriptions.
ZNIXCLIB.ARC A collection of Berkeley UN*X C library emulation
(Disk #03) routines for CI-C86 C compiler. Includes C Sources, man

(Disk #01) version of YAM has been converted from CP/M to MS-DOS.
Uses serial modems only (not S-100 cards). ZYAM is a
very flexible and comprehensive modem program. Because
of this it is somewhat hard to learn and hard to use
(unless you are already familiar with UN*X syntax).
