Our system administrator selects root passwords by selecting an arbitrary
printout and using whatever letters appear in a given column of the
listing.  (These are subject to evaluation based on the mix of upper, lower,
and special characters).

the resulting passwds are totally nonensical, though, and I suspect that
super-users have a tendency to write them down....
