If he does not step in, the ump at his discretion, calls a strike, without the pitcher throwing the ball. If the batter still does not step into the box, the above rather grim scenario may be repeated twice more to strike the bum out. This could be the answer to Dave's question of winning a game without throwing a ball, but alas, it isn't............... Andy
