     Hofstadter seems big on this kind of stuff.  Check the
bibliography in a recent (~ 4 months ago) issue of Scientific
American, for his column "Metamagical Themas."  The topic was
self-referential, self-duplicating ideas (verbal viruses--more
GEB-like discussions).  He lists a fictitious article in the
bibliography, the author, title, and host magazine of which
are similar to the article itself.
