Naturally, she is teaching grade eight everything except science and industrial arts now. When she actually was teaching Latin, she had occasion to collect the notebooks. Without fail they were decorated with: IN CASE OF FIRE --- THROW IN!!! and Latin is a subject, as dull as dull can be, It killed the ancient Romans, And now its killing me!! Sure enough, when I took Latin, I enscribed them on *my* notebooks.... Of course, there are a lot of people on the net who never took Latin and will find these new and funny. (though not as funny as those who *did* take latin and have never heard of these, assuming they exist...) A friend of mine came up with another system for driving teachers (and next years students) wild. On page 10, you write "In case of FIRE turn to page 17". On page 17 you write "In case of FIRE turn to page 22"... and so on. Finally at about page 200 you write NOT NOW, STUPID -- IN **CASE*** OF ***FIRE***. (well, when I was in grade eight I thought it was hillarious) Laura Creighton utzoo!utcsstat!laura
