Over the Memorial Day weekend I got a chance to visit 2 BMW dealers in
Cincinnati, Ohio. I saw Bimmers I didn't know were imported here.
Got my first glimpse of the new 318i and the 533i. I was very impressed
with the 318i, due mainly to a revamped instrumentation layout moreso
resembling that on the 5-series cars. Base price: $16430. Didn't see
too much of the 533i, as it rained much of the day and this car was
outside the showroom on the lot. Base price: $28,985.
I also saw a 323i, a 645(something), and (two) M-1's. The 323i seems
the way to go for the 3-series; 318i's dash layout and 528e's overhead
systems monitor, 6-cylinder 2.3(?) liter, $25,000, etc. I only took a
passing glance at that 645; and the M-1 at $125,000 was a bit more than
I can budget. Anybody out there know anything more concerning especially
the 3-series cars (including the upcoming 4-door) let me know by mail
or if it's of general interest post on the net.
