It's a dumb ASCII-only ftp. It strips ALL high-order bits from the file. This has been brought to the attention of the system gurus at BRL but so far no fix has been forthcoming. This was caused by the changeover to TCP/IP, which required the BRL people to re-write FTP. They seem to have little interest in the problems of us CP/M'ers. (Maybe a little competativeness showing there?)..
