Graphics users take note. The Versatec has run out of paper, and we
don't plan to order more because we intended to decommission the thing
soon anyway. (We had thought the paper would last until then.) As a
replacement for it, plotting of similar quality is now available on
the Sanders. Just use "splot" instead of "vcplot" to send stuff to
be plotted. The one disadvantage of plotting on the Sanders is that
it is rather slower than the Versatec was. It is possible to plot
much more quickly on the Sanders at the cost of somewhat poorer output
quality, and we intend to make this capability available to graphics
users quite shortly. (It's not quite ready because we hadn't expected
to need it quite so soon.)

Let us know what you think of the output quality of Sanders plotting.
The actual dots-per-inch resolution is about the same, but the dots
join better and it seems to us that the result looks better. There
is also the advantage that the Sanders prints on ordinary paper, not
the funny stinky stuff the Versatec uses.
