Chance
------

Sitting beside you, in the sudden silliness of action,
I felt a warmth, and I turned to you, perhaps hoping to be
gathered in to the arms that now flourished a pillow, now fought off
an elbow or an arm. We were hectic, wild, playful.
But there were too many there, and you answered my desire
with a tickle. Later on, the silence of absent people
stirred my shyness. I kept quiet of my thoughts.
Anyway, the chance was gone.

This is an unfinished poem, and I can't think of a way to end it. It
seems awkward to leave it as is, but I don't know what to do with it.
I'd appreciate any ideas/suggestions anyone could provide.

Thanks,
Arwen
