  The major problem with the expression "You're a nice guy, but..." is what
comes after the "but" is usually a cop-out. Very seldom does the lady in this
scenario ever say what it is she *really* doesn't like, and that is my major
complaint about this. I'd much rather know what it is she really doesn't like
about me, so just maybe I could learn something from the [negative] experience
of being turned down. The only line following the "but" I've ever heard that
sounded real was, "You're a nice guy, and I really like you, but I don't think
my boyfriend would appreciate it if I went out with you". Now *that's* a
constructive response! :-)
