A few sentences later, he/she says that both religious Jews and non-religious Jews believe strongly in Judaism, and would die for it. If Judaism is a religion, and not a race, how could a non-religious Jew believe so strongly in his religion that he would die for it???? I have a feeling that rdin!abs just said, more or less, that Judaism is a race after all.... Glenn Reid ..seismo!uwvax!reid **************************************************************************** In reply to the above -- Judaism is NOT (repeat NOT) a race. It is most definitely a religion. A person who adheres to the Jewish faith can stop being Jewish, by converting to another religion. A person CANNOT change their race by converting to another one! A better word than non-religious would be non-observant. I am non-observant -- I don't light the candles on Fridays, and haven't seen the inside of a synagogue in several months, but I certainly consider myself Jewish. I certainly feel very strongly about Judaism (as evidenced by this flame)! Lynne Axel Fitzsimmons {decvax, ucbvax, ihnss, harpo, zehntel} !teklabs!lynnef
