I just saw a BD-5J fly at the EAA Sun 'N Fun fly-in last March.  It was
sponsored by Coors beer I think.  If you can find a copy of the book
entitled "Homebuilt Airplanes" by Wolman and Garrison you can read an
extremely interesting account of the rip-off and technological faults
of the original BD-5 kit.  After reading that write-up, I know I wouldn't
want anything to do with those planes.
