They are forever getting my car mixed up with the ones that Dodge builds, those stupid Omni's, Horizons, etc. My suggestion is that you study those manuals you're getting, and do everything yourself, unless it requires special tools that you can't afford. You can bet that those servicemen won't be as careful as you will with your own car. The only thing I've not had the confidence to do is to repack the front wheel bearings on my car, as the manual shows all kinds of special ways of taking apart and reassembling those drive shafts, etc. Too much for me, though it cost me $100+ to have Chrysler do it!! After I convinced them my car didn't have the permanently packed bearings of "their" cars! (It scares me to have such people work on my car, but if they screw it up, at least they'll have to pay.) As for turbo's, EFI, etc., you've probably got the smarts to at least find out if things are working properly, and to point people to the right section of the manual to find out/fix what's wrong. Mitsubishi's are good machines -- quite well engineered, I think. I've had so little trouble with my car (43,000 mi.), that I'm amazed. The exhaust pipe broke due to my excessive accelerations, and an electric mirror quit, but other than that, I've had absolutely nothing go wrong (knock on wood). Good luck with your Starion.
