The first is societies inability to not flinch when someone young calls someone old by their name instead by their title (how many of you called your first grade teacher 'Mary'?). The second is business correspondence where you might not know they gender of the person you are writing to, and therefore default to the (arbitrary and sexist but) traditional 'Mr. Foo'). -- >From the dungeons of the Warlock: Chuck Von Rospach ucbvax!amd70!packet!cfv (chuqui@mit-mc) <- obsolete!
