Notice the tobacco company adds which keep proclaiming the lack of solid
evidence that cigarette smoking harms others nearby? Remember how long the
tobacco companies advertised and argued in courts and in congress that no
one had shown that cigarettes posed any long term danger to the SMOKER'S health?
Well, I wonder why they are screaming so loud now. Most of us have probably
read these ads so many times we believe them.

As for myself, I am convinced that other folks cigarette smoke harms me. Why?
Well, after about 4 PM on Saturday, if I haven't been around smokers that
day I find myself cough phlem out of my breathing passages. By Sunday
evening they are clear. By Tuesday morning they ar congested again. Tobacco
smoke triggers or worsens the symptoms of my various allergies to North American
pollens (hay fever). It irritates my throat , nasal, and sinus membranes,
making me more succeptible to disease.

PS. My officemates don't somke when I am in the office. I suffer from their
cigarette smoke anyway. Our society makes it a point of honor that a smoker
will smoke where he wants. It should be a mark of shame.
