Why would groups such as Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, etc. need to worry
about backwards masking as a means of deception when many of their songs
already have a very plain message when played forward. Don't these people
ever listen to these songs normally before backwards?

I am not disputing that the brain may be capable of reversing the phrases
subconsiously and creating some influences. I find it quite amusing
to read many of these theories when I find very few people who can listen
to a song normally and quote the proper words. I have seen band
members listen to a song for several plays and argue amoungst
themselves as to the actual words.
