Please let's not have more leper jokes. There was a flood of them a few
months ago, and as I pointed out at that time, lepers are probably the
only group who can be seriously injured by jokes aimed at them. Wasps,
JAP's, Poles, Newfies and other ethnic groups can all defend themselves,
and in any case no-one thinks that the jokes carry any taint of truth.
With leper jokes, on the other hand, the joke only exagerates what
many people falsely believe to be a characteristic of leprosy. Lepers
can function well in society, provided people don't know they are lepers.
Leper jokes perpetuate a false stereotype and can HURT.

Please don't propagate leper jokes.
