Do I feel silly.  Of *course* I remember what the Z0-particle is.
It is the neutral "sister" particle to the charged W-particles
W+ and W-, all three of which are intermediate vector bosons, the
"carriers" of the weak nuclear force.  The apparent discovery of
the Z0 (W+ and W- were apparently discovered earlier this year, also
at CERN) caps the theory which unifies the weak force with the
electromagnetic force.  I think they said the mass of the Z0 is
equivalent to about 85 GeV.  I cannot wait to see their paper.
