Hmm ... wasn't thinking when I wrote that.  Of course you can just
use the original file, unless your pager doesn't know how to skip
lines.  If so, then use a temp file.  But [apply concentrated heat
to combustible gaseous mixture] USE A FILE, DAMMIT!  [remove fuel
supply]  It's oh so much more convenient.
