A restricted license for everyone under 26 years of age!
I can't believe you were serious! I, for one, need my
car for a whole lot more than just getting to work and
school. (There are little things like food shopping,
getting to the laundromat, visiting my family, etc...)

Granted, I *AM* 27 now, but I needed the car just as much
3 months ago...

Instead of restricting any particular group of drivers,
why don't they put more emphasis on INDIVIDUALS?
For example, mandatory revocation of someone's license if
they've been caught DWI (and NO plea-bargaining to a lesser
charge), or have been in multiple accidents within a certain
time period, or have been mixing driving/drugs...

THAT would help to lower death & insurance rates (probably
more than restricting certain age groups). No, wait, I
take that back. Let me make a counter proposal: restricted
licenses (for work/school ONLY) for anyone under 27, over 31,
or anyone between 27 and 31 who is married and has blue eyes...
Now that we've eliminated 96.89% of the drivers, rates are
SURE to come down!

One last thing: some people in this discussion have made a
very serious error by stating that it is a person's RIGHT to
drive. Nope! Driving is a PRIVILEGE granted by each state
to it's citizens. If you don't believe me, check with your
local DMV...
