This might be of interest to those of you in the Bay Area who still miss KFAT:

--------------------------------
From the Corvallis, OR Gazette-Times Entertainment and Arts Guide
Friday 17 June 83:

COUNTRY STATION HAS NEW LETTERS

KLOO-FM is now KFAT-FM, according to Larry Blair,
program director of the local station.

The change in the station's call letters is to distinguish it
from KLOO-AM, the local easy-listening station, said Blair.

KFAT's format is different than its AM sibling, playing a
broad range of country music. KFAT plays a combination of
modern country hits, oldies, rockabilly, bluegrass, country
rock, and Western swing.

-------------------------------

I've been listening to KFAT for the past few days (since I saw this)
and it seems clear that they understand what the original KFAT was
all about. They're trying *very* hard, but they don't have the
record library to pull it off. Maybe that will come in time, though.
