I just received a certified letter from Evans and Sutherland
stating that they will not accept orders for the Picture System II or
the Multi-Picture System after July 83 and production will be discontinued
by December. They give several reasons, but they are putting all of their
eggs in the PS300 basket. The last I heard about the PS300 was that it is
an engineer's dream and a programmer's nightmare, i.e., it's a hardware marvel
but very difficult to program. The last info I saw on the net was a scathing
review from Michael Wahrman at Robert Abel and Associates.
Has anyone used a recent version of the PS300? Has it improved?
