ENOUGH ALREADY!
I've had umpteen mail messages, not to mention six or eight news
postings, about electric passengers carrying vehicles. Don't you
all know that the British are, if nothing else, grammatical?
If they meant to prohibit electric passengers from carrying
vehicles, the sign would have said "No electric passengers..." etc.
The use of "electric passenger" in the singular makes it clear
what the prohibition applies to.
