I will all but swear to it that Quincy was indeed and NBC
Misery Theater thing, but it was not introduced in the first
season MT was on.  I believe it came in a year or two later,
and might have replaced "McMillian and Wife,"  or "McCloud,"
neither of which were very popular (I don't think).  Seems
to be a strong anti-Irish sentiment, huh?
