Certainly it's possible to run csh inside Emacs.  I've been doing
it for quite a while now.  It requires a bunch of changes to mchan.c.
While you're changing that it'd be a good idea to install the CMU
mpx-file fix to the kernel.

Spencer Thomas (utah-gr.thomas@utah-cs) and Marshall Rose (mrose@uci
or mrose.uci@rand-relay) have modified my modifications to run under
4.2 (well, 4.1c).  I haven't yet put the 4.2 code in with my Emacs
so my source isn't quite up-to-date, but I can mail the 4.1 version
and the CMU fix to those who want them.
