   "The Eddystone Light" (the normal title of the song cited) is old enough
that a folksong wordbook I ran across recently includes not only the original
(roughly as quoted by Mark Terribile) but also a science-fictional parodies of
it ("The Asteroid Light"---not much of a filk but amusing if you're looking for
stfictional songs; I've also heard "The Arilinn Tower", which you won't
recognize if you haven't read any of MZBradley's Darkover books).
