Lines: 9 I disagree with the answer to striking out without the pitcher throwing a pitch. The actual ruling states that when the batter refuses to take his position in the batter's box, the umpire shall ORDER THE PITCHER TO PITCH, AND SHALL CALL "STRIKE" ON EACH SUCH PITCH (no matter where the ball is pitched). This is the correct ruling. It is not possible to get a K without the pitcher throwing the ball. Rich Barry
