Having gotten shafted by exit only lanes too many times, I have some
sympathy for people who are "afraid of highway exits". I will sometimes
move out of the right lane (if I'm going 55) if I see a right-hand exit-only
lane and I don't want to exit, or if I see a left-hand exit land and do
want to exit. Not every driver out there recognizes that you're forced
to a lane further to the left due to these circumstances...

Also, people who come up on your tail if you're in the left-hand lane and:

1) The lanes to the right of you are going 50 in a 55 MPH zone
2) The lane you're in is going 55-60
3) They want to go 65-70

annoy me; I'm damned if I'm going to move over just to give them a chance
to harrass the person in front of me. Can't they see that prevailing
traffic isn't going as fast as they want to and just slow down?

Of course, on the other hand I completely agree with you about people
persistently going UNDER the speed limit; a local road here is clearly
marked 55 MPH but people PERSIST in going 45 MPH, even when the road is
clear! At those times I wish I was driving a turbocharged bulldozer...
