INC. hears Ald. Ed Burke will introduce an antismoking ordinance requiring employers to set aside separate space in their offices for nonsmoking emplyoees. Burke said, "The ordinance, which will apply only to office buildings in the city, will provide comfort and protection to nonsmokers... In a public place, one can always move away from a smoker. In an office, you cannot. They need not be assaulted by their smoking brethren." Amen. P.S.: The ordinance, similar to one in San Francisco, will provide for a $500 fine of employers who do not comply. (Chicago Tribune- INC. column. 6/23/83) An ex-smoker, Ray Jender ihuxi!rcj1
