It really helps out on sub-optimal days and lighting conditions. I was very pleased by the color and quality of the photos (though I haven't blown any up yet). One note -- the instructions on the VR1000 film warn you that the film is very sensitive to x-rays and you should not let it get zapped in the airport security checks. Take heed!
