- Sir HUGH DE SAINT PHILIBERT, son and heir, was still under age, and a ward to the Earl of Cornwall, in 1278-79. He went on service to Wales with the Earl in July 1287; and overseas, on service, 1297; in that year he was also summoned to a military council at Rochester, and for service against the Scots, and again in 1298, 1300, 1301 and 1303. In 1298, in consideration of his services in Flanders, Scotland and elsewhere, he had a pardon for himself and his wife Alice, for acquiring a property in Berks without licence. He was sum. to Parliament 6 February 1298/9, and he was on sundry local commissions in Berks and Oxon, 1300-04; and in November 1300 was the bearer of a message from the King to the Council at York. He married Alice and died 31 December 1304
