Born Oct 23, 1896, in Anderson, Missouri, Son of Martin andDemaracy Davis Epperson. Lived most of his life in Rockford. Marriedthe former Vivian Lighthart in Rockford. he was a carpenter for WojackConstruction Co. several years, retiring in 1961. Member Carpenter'sUnion, Odd Fellows Lodge and Eagles Club. Survivors include two sons,David, Rockford and Lloyd, Loves Park, Illinois; four daughters, Mrs Joe(Mary) Musso,, Byron, Ill. Delores Carr and Mrs Bruce (Lois) Veitch, bothRockford, Ill. and Mrs John (Sandra) Copp, Rockton, Ill; 40grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren;several nieces and Nephew. Born Jan 14, 1879, in Maysville, Arkansas, son of Mr. andMrs. Martin Epperson. Lived 45 years in Rockford, coming here fromArkansas. Married to the former Hazel M. VanCore in Rockford Jan 25,1929. Employed as carpenter by several local contractors for 31 years.honorary member of West Suburban Fire Department and former assistantchief of the department for six years.
Survivors include his widow, Hazel; two sons, Dewy M., and Chester L.both of Rockford; a daughter, Mrs Bernice Justice, Atlanta, Ga.; abrother , Lee, Rockford; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Zell, Rockford; and sevengrandchildren; several nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by abrother, Ben.
