This countess, outliving his lordship, paid 100 marks to King Henry III that she might not be compelled to marry again, but that she might select her own husband, provided he were a loyal subject. She afterwards m. Richard Siward, a turbulent person, but of a martial disposition from his youth who took an active part with the barons. From this boisterous soldier her ladyship was, however, eventually divorced. Henry, 5th Earl of Warwick, was s. at his decease in 1229, by his son, Thomas de Newburgh, 6th Earl of Warwick.
