"Euland Mead Rushing, son of Oliver Francis and Alma (Mead) Rushing
married Myra Vinson and they had one son. Euland was a graduate of
Prattville High School, Prattville, Autauga Co., AL, and Polytechnic
Institute (Auburn University, Auburn, Lee Co., AL) in the School of
Agricultural Education. He was Assistant County Farm Agent in Pickens
County, Alabama with headquarters at Carrolton when called into the
service. A member of the R. O. T. C. at Auburn, he went into service
with a lieutenant's commission. He was first assigned to Fort Bragg,
North Carolina. The he had a three months of special training at Fort
Sill, OK. He then returned to Fort Bragg as a Captain." (1)

Mitchell Rushton Rushing, son of Oliver Francis and Alma (Mead) Rushing
had served five years four months and thirteen days in the U. S. Army Air
Corps prior to declaration of war on 8 Dec 1941. He had been stationed
at Eglin Field, FL; Chanute Field, Illinois, Gunter Field and Maxwelll
Field, Montgomery, AL. At that time there was critical shortage of
trained personnel in the Civil Aeronautics Administration and the Army
released Mitchell, an expert radioman, to the Civil Aeronautics
Administration to serve as an instructor. He was employed in the Air
Traffic Control Division as Chief Airport Traffic Controller in
Tallahassee, Fl, but was on temporary duty at Atlanta, GA, instructing an
Army School in Civil Air Regulations. He enlisted in July 1936." (1)

Oliver Frank Rushing, Jr., son of Oliver Francis and Alma (Mead) Rushing
graduated at Prattville High School in Prattville, AL and started college
at Auburn University in Septemter 1940. In November he was called out
with the National Guard for induction into the regular army. Going to
Camp Blanding, FL, he was sent from there to Scott Field, Illinois for
special training at radio school, and later was assigned to the
Communications Division at Jackson, Mississippi. Afterwards he was sent
to Washington, D. C. for a brief period and early in August was
transferred by plance to Brazil, arriving there 11 Aug 1942.

"Arthur Mead, son of Oliver Francis and Alma (Mead) Rushing was born 13
Aug 1924. He finished high in Prattville High School as did his brothers,
graduating with the Class of 1942. He enlisted 17 August 1942 in the
Marines. Sent to Parris Island for preliminary training, at the end of
six weeks, he was transferred to New River, NC. He married Madelyn King
