[Sineath book - In 1830 there was a Wm James Sineath lived St James,Goose Creek Parish,SC and also a Wm James Lived Charleston Neck,SC.Prob these 2 men same man. The earliest deed for property in StJames,Goose Creek filed for Wm James sineath was in the 1829 (see SCHistorical and Genealogical Magazine Vol 29,"Goose Creek" by JudgeHenry A M Smith.) He owned the "12 Mile House", where the authorbelieved the Sineath family lived for majority of years bet 1829 andc1865. The 12 Mile House located near present site of the TechnicalEducation Center at 7000 Rivers Ave.,North Charleston,SC.
On 15 JAN 1833, Wm James purchased the "Oaks Plantation "containing650 acres, where presently the Oaks Country Club at Goose Creek islocated. He owned numerous plantations in St James,Goose CreekParish. In 1836, he bought the "Brick House" or "MartindalePlantation", located off the Ashley Phosphate Rd. This area (AshleyPhospate) where the Southern Railroad crosses the Ashley Phospate Rd,was known as Sineaths or Sineath's Station for many years.
