Around 1910, he moved to Harlan County, Ky and worked in coal mines between there and Evarts, Ky. He was attributed with opening several mines in that area. I don't have any documentation to that fact. Sophia (Wood) is the daughter of John Wood. I do not know why he was in Indiana for her to be born there. John Wood is mentioned in the History of Laurel County and supposedly was a large land owner there. I will send you what I know about Bassett and his family soon. Hope this helps.
