NOTE:

As I look back on all my ancesters I think I admire Eve Ann more then
the rest. Richardson was off fighting with General Lee and she was
home taking care of the children. By the time the Civil war started she had 10 children and 3 died very young. I can not imagine what kind of life she had. At least eight of the children were living with her when the War started, Richardson gone for 3 years, I wonder how she supported her family. Richardson did not accept pay the first 2 times he served.

Her oldest children John and James 2 sons of a previous marriage, Susan was 11, Peter; 9, Jilson 7, Levi and Maragaret 6, Alexander and Sarah were 5, little Richardson was a toddler, Isabella, Jefferson and Mary were born during the war.

I know that James enlisted the same day Richardson did, I am not sure about John. I wish there was a way to look back in the past.

Everyone I have talked to says that Richardson was a man among men, but I have yet to hear one word about Eve Ann. Why is it that the women in our past do not receive credit for their part in our families. As I look through the history some are listed "Unknown," with no record of their ancestry. I feel that they are as important in the family structure as the men and should be recognized for their sacrifices, I believe these women should be honored. I can see how their children grew into strong, self~sufficient men and women and I am proud to be a decendent of Eve Ann.

Eve Ann deserves a hand, I don't know any woman today that could handle 17 children. Let alone not having all the modern conviences.

I for one want to know WHERE I came from and these women are a very important part of our heritage.

God Bless you Grandma Eve, you were quit a woman.

Once a traveling salesman came to town, he hired the triplets to dance and draw a crowd so he could sell his products. The all three wore flat straw hats and could dance very well. They were sharp dressers, they started wearing mustaches when they were 18. They were all good men and very close friends. Morgan traveled everwhere, there was a train that ran thru town and they all used it a lot.

They had a portrait taken together when they were 23 years old.

They were identical and no one could tell them apart. When they were young their mother put different color buttons on their shirts to tell them apart, but they would switch shirts and pull pranks on people. They would trade places in school at test time, one was good with math another science and the other history, it worked quit well for them.

Morgan died 07 Aug 1917 of typhoid fever after working as a lumberjack in the mountains.

Note:
My Father, William was called "Wild Bill" when he was young. He always wore a black Stetson hat. He was a hansome man very outgoing and everyone liked him. When he contracted a job I always went with him, I was so proud of him. When my Grandmother Sarah became so mean to me he took me to Texas where we stayed a while then went to New Jersey. We stayed there until my Granmother passed on then went back to WVA.

Once while they were making "MOON Shine" they looked out the window and saw a man in uniform coming up the mountain toward the house, they hide everything and when the man came to the door it was my brother Pat in his uniform, he was in the Army and came home on leave. Grandad got out the "shine" and they all had a drink to celebrate. That was about 1930 before he got married. She had a good laugh over that one.

William was buried near a stream at Dog's Run, Clay County, WVA. Ramsey County Cemetery. A marker was place on the grave by family members in 1998.

He was tall, blond and had blue eyes.
