!Deprived by his uncle of the county of Champagne. [William I and the Norman Conquest]

!Styled D'Aumarle from his possession of the city of Aumarle in Normandy, which he held from the Archbishop of Rouen, on the condition that, in all expeditions where that Prelate went in person, he should be his standard-bearer, with 12 knights. After the battle of Hastings, Odo received a large share of the
forfeited lands, among others, the lordship of Bytham in Lincolnshire, and the county or earldom of Holderness. [Roll of Battle Abbey]

!3rd husband of Adelheid of Normandy; father of Stephen, Count d'Aumale. [Ped. of Charlemagne, Vol. I, p. 270]

Dau. of Arlette and Robert I; m. Odo, Count of Champagne. [Falaise Roll, Table IV]

3rd husband of Adelaide; comte de Champagne; sire d'Aumale by right of his wife. Eudes received from the Conqueror the island of Holderness (Meaux) shortly after the compilation of Domesday which had previously been in possession of Dreu de La Beuvriére and espoused the caue of William Rufus after the death of King William I. His castle of Aumale received an English garrison, which was enlarged and strengthened by him and his son, Stephan, at the expense of the royal treasury, on the invasion of Normandy by William Rufus in 1090. Later he conspired with Robert de Mowbray and other powerful nobles to depose the king and place his son, Stephan, on the throne. The plot having failed, Eudes and Stephan were captured and thrown into prison, in 1094, where Eudes remained until his death, c. 1108. Stephan was condemned to have his eyes put
out, but by the intercession of his wife and family and the payment of a large sum of money was liberated. [Falaise Roll, p. 16]
