Death:Minnie Arlene Nilsen, 93, formerly of Baker Ave. in Groton,Ct. died Saturday June 16, 2001 at the Fairview in Groton where she had resided since 1993.

Death:She was born on September 22, 1907 in Crenshaw, Penn. the daughter of Berger and Ida Anderson.

Death:She was the widow of Magnus Nilsen whom she married at the Swedish Evangelical Church in New London, Ct. on October 6, 1934.

Death:Mrs. Nilsen had been a resident of Groton since 1933 and was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, the Church Sewing Circle, and the Groton Senior Citizens.

Death:She was an accomplished cook and had worked for George Eastman, founder of Eastman Kodak in Rochester, N.Y.

Death:She is survived by two daughters Anne Craw of Gales Ferry, Carol Watson of Quechee, Vt., one son Arnold Nilsen of Stonington, four grandchildren Erik Nilsen, Andrea Nilsen, Lisa Davis, Christine Demeyer, four great-grandchildren Autumn Fullerton, Melisa, Andy & Nick Wanty, three nieces Gertrude Steiner, Ida Dungey & Julie Mason.

Death:She was predeceased by a brother Arthur Anderson and a sister Julia Bernhard.

Death:Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wed., June 20 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Groton. Burial will follow in Colonel Ledyard Cemetery in Groton.

Death:There are no visiting hours.
