Beebe in the "Beebe Connection" August 1990 issue. Silas is said to have been in Chenango City, NY about 1793. John Blodgett lists an additional child by the second marriage that died in infancy. It appears his son Silas was the first to go to MI. and Silas probably joined him there. Ralph B. Beebe of Hendersonville, NC, says that Silas is the "Latus" Beebe shown in some records. Polly: Name spelled Stevens not "Stephens" in Ingham County Pioneer Families. She was shown age 55, born NH, in the 1850 census. Silas moved from Stockbridge from Utica, NY in 1838. They had seven children with tree dying in infancy. His will is undated and filed in Probate Court, Mason, MI. Prior to moving to MI, Silas Jr. made a round trip in 1838 between Utica, NY. and Stockbridge. Silas kept an extremely interesting diary of the trip and extracts were provided the MI. Pioneer Society by his son Herbert H. Beebe who was a reporter in New York City. 9. Charles Warner BeebeBorn Jul 28, 1807 at Cortland City, NY.-----see notes, died Dec 23, 1870 at Republic City, KS., 63 years, buried at Sunset Cemetary, Manhatten, Riley, KS. Charles went to Manhattan in Riley City, KS. in1855 and built a home for his family. His daughter Helen made notes on the journey as they took boats from Cincinnati, OH to St, Louis and then a steamboat on to Kansas City. There Charles located a wagon and a couple of oxen for the rest of the hard long trip to their new home. Helen's granddaughter took her notes and wrote "A Pioneer,s Story of Her Overland Journey to Manhattan" which appeared in a Kansas Kin Newsletter in August 1986. 10.
