Isaac Partlow, son of Benjamin PARTLOW and Clara BARNES. Born Aug 31, 1785 at VA.---see notes------- Attched to Benjamin by Janet K. Richardson, died Feb 28, 1860 at Clark Co., IL, 74 years [Birth Scource - !850 Census. Clark Co., Johnson Township, IL, Page 172, Household 1473] From Clark County Illinois Partlows by Harry C. Partlow Isaac's grandson, Samuel Orrell was born 1833, in Franklin County, IN, and according to Isaac's son, Nelson's death record in Clark Co., Nelson was born in 1834 in Marion Co., IN. This would indicate that possibly Isaac left VA. and moved onto Indiana before his brother Jacob, who left VA. around 1836. In 1840, however, Isaac and family was living in Rush Co., IN. John Halleck Partlow, nephew of Isaac, was living in in Johnson Township, Clark Co., IL. in 1839. The reports back to his family in Indiana surely enticed Isaac to move there. On Oct. 18, 1851, Isaac entered land in the west half of the northwest quarter of Section 5, 77.0 acres in the extreme northwest tip of Johnson Township. This property later was to become the early home of Rachel Richardson Partlow, wife of Harry C. Partlow. Isaac sold his land in Section 6 of Johnson Township on Oct. 29, 1858, to Benjamin N. Weaver. He acquired 40 acres in Section 15, being the southwest quarter of the southeast quarter of Johnson Township located in Moriah on the west side of the road which the Briggs family now owns. Letters Testamentary in Isaac Partlow's Estate in Box 45 of the Clark County, IL. records show that Isaac died on the 28th day of February, 1860, at this residence in Johson Township. His property and effects were valued at $1000.00. John H. Partlow was appointed Executor of his estate on March 19, 1860. Isaac is buried in the Partlow Cemetery located approximately 1/4 mile west of Hoguetown in Johnson Township, Clark Co., IL. Isaac's tombstone being one of the earliest markers in this cemetery lists him as age 73 and 7 months.
