 Susanna Menefee, daughter of Jonas MENEFEE and Elizabeth "Betsey" "Betsy" CHEW.Born Mar 11, 1757 at Culpeper Co., VA---see notes, died 1836 at Bourbon Co., KY, 78 or 79 years The absolute surety that Susanna is the daughter of Jonas and Elizabeth Chew is not proven, but is highly suspected by this researcher [Calvin Menefee]. The fact she was born in Culpeper Co., VA., in the same time period as the remainder of Jonas and Elizabeth's children, and the fact that she married into the Corbin family as did other Menefee descendants of the of this same Menefee line. Also a complete listing of their children has never been proven beyond a doubt. If only some census records in the 1700's gave all members of a household we would be sure who was who! But, alas, they do not! A member of the Corbin family descendants has recently confirmed that there is a Bible record for their family that states Susanna was indeed a daughter of Jonas and Elizabeth Chew.
