Narrative

Grimston Hall is in the village of Trimley-St-Martin, about 8 miles southeast of Ipswich. Thomas Cavendish, an Elizabethan adventurer born in 1560, lived here, although it was not the original house, which existed in the Domesday Book. Thomas was the second Englishman to circumnavigate the world, bringing back cargoes of booty, but lost at sea in 1592.
