BLUE, Mary 1a

Birth Name BLUE, Mary
Gender female
Age at Death 65 years, 8 months, 12 days

Narrative

BIRTH: 1850 census has birth in Kentucky; but this could have been part of Virginia which became Kentucky after her birth.
BIOGRAPHY: From Bob Blue: "Her father, David, married her off quickly after Thomas birth in 1815 to an old friend from the indian wars who was much older than she was. I believe he was honoring his old friend by naming a son Famous, After Famous Mortimer. They were in fact helping each other out. Famous Mortimer had just lost his wife and had 7 children by her who would need care. Mary was somewhat of an embarasement to David and Phoebe so he took Mary off their hands and kept Thomas who they adopted. According to her son Thomas’ obituary, Famous Mortimer and Mary came to Putnam Co. IN in 1833. 1833 is most likely a mistake because Famous and Mary had their last son, Marquis DeLaFayette Mortimore in 1823 in Flemming Co., KY. She did not move to Indiana until after her husband died in 1851. I would guess 1853 was the correct year."
Moved to McLean Co., Illinois after marriage to Joseph Fagan.
