Robert de Peyton de Ufford, his younger son, who, assuming his surname from the lordship of that name in that shire, became Robert de Ufford. Sir William Dugdale says of this family, which afterwards arrived to such great honour, there had not been anything memorable until the 53rd year of Henry III, 1268, when Robert de Peyton de Ufford was made Justice of Ireland by Henry III, and again in the reign of Edward I. He married Mary, widow of William de Say, and dying in 26 of Edward I, 1296.
