HERBERT DE ST. QUINTIN, son of William de St. Quintin, wassummoned 1282 and in later years, for service against the Welsh,Scots and in Gascony; and in 1287 and 1297, to militarycouncils. By a writ of 8 Jun 1294 (6 days before the generalwrit of summons for service in Gascony), he was summoned with 59others to a council on matters touching the Crown and Realm, theKing's honour and theirs; but he never received a summons toParliament, such as has been held to create a hereditary barony.He d. in Feb 1301/2.
