        DNA: This family is group AA on the Pierce DNA website, haplo group R1B1c.

        Note: This family went to Green, Warren and Barren Co., KY, also the home of the Coombs family, who were intermarried with Pierces and Underwoods in Westmoreland Co., VA in the 1600's. Underwoods also in Green Co., KY. The Westmoreland line has "Tunstall" as a middle name, which is probably also the same name as Turnsdoll.

        According to "Ellis Family Tree" internet site, William Pierce b. 1750 d. 1849 in Warren Co., KY married Ann Turnsdoll in 1770 in Orange Co., VA; went to NC for a while, then Warren Co.KY; 10 ch., including the James Pierce who married Elizabeth Skaggs and the Polly Pierce who married William Skaggs; descendents in Warren Co. and Barren Co., KY

        1810 census, Hardin Co., KY: maybe this family, maybe not, but no Pierces in Barren Co., like the family story says.

        1810 census, Green Co., KY: George Pierce 3-2-0-1(26-45)-0 / 2-0-1(16-26)-0-0 [another pierce in the area - this one b. 1765-1784.]

        There is a note in a query that has William Pierce death date of Nov 11, 1825 and wife Nancy Aug. 4, 1826, which would make sense from their probably birthdates.
