The only other avenues I've heard of are replacing the PMU and replacing all the fuses. It seems like you could try replacing all the capacitors, too, but I don't recall anyone trying that specifically. It seems to me that capacitor failure is a much more likely scenario than fuse failure. A failed cap is not always visually distinctive...

If you aren't handy with a multimeter and a soldering iron, I would probably shelve the project at this point.
