"As for how Star Wars: The Force Awakens turned out, he would have
approached it differently, as he contended he did when the
franchise was in his hands. "They wanted to do a retro movie. I
don't like that. Every movie, I worked very hard to make them
different," Lucas said. "I made them completely different ?
different planets, different spaceships to make it new."

Star Wars: The Force Awakens has grossed more than $1 billion to
date."

Boo-hoo. Man, I'm glad he didn't make the sequels.

I returned to the suburb and subdivision of my youth, Kings Pointe, in Grand

There, I saw my childhood home, and the changes that had been made to it--like
turning the 70's-tastic greenhouse into a new entryway. I heard about the downing of trees in the yard that were as old as I was. And disliked things as
I did, there was nothing I could do about it...

....because my mother sold the house in 1984.

Deal, George. Deal and pleasure yourself atop the pile of Disney-money garnered
from your Faustian bargain.

Oh and PS:

After those crap-tastic prequels? I'll take "retro" any damned day of the week.
Any day, George...even Sunday. and Sunday's a crappy day of the week.

Wonderfully worded lol. He really has no room to talk, TFA was way
better than the prequels. Sorry George

The new movie is only "better" because it lazily just rips-off the
original movie / Trilogy. Just like Jar Jar Abrams' hopeless Star Trek
movies, it doesn't really add to the story nor fit with what came
before, but just tries to stupidly and unnecessarily "reboot" it for
the ADHD generation. :-(

With better writing, better special effects and better directing. Still
the point of this was to introduce the cast. The next movie will show
us what they can do with them. I'm still looking forward to the
dramatic scene where he says "Rey! I am your first cousin once removed!"

Actually, the David and Goliath concept of the first film was weak and
poorly executed in the new one. It's not even close, actually.

Maybe better special effects. You're high if you think the writing and
directing was better...

Just imagine such a sentence being heard in 1977:

The point of Star Wars is to introduce the cast!?

*grin* :-o

Oh boy, give me the original trilogy any day (again). ;)

Star Wars wasn't the 7th in an ongoing series. It wasn't even made as
the first part of a trilogy.
