So kylo Ren is a spoiled petulant child prone to outbursts. People whining he isn't a total badass 100% of the time need to just stop it. They're the same people that whined when Vader turned back to the light side.

I think he was perfectly portrayed. The entire point was that he wasn't Vader,
that he wasn't badass. At least not yet. I think Ep VIII will see his hatred
grow much larger.

Be interesting to see if they will try to go the redemption route like Luke took with Vader or just try to fry his butt. After what happened in VII, I got to think people are gonna hope he gets fried.

Indeed. Redemption means forgiveness from Leia, not merely survival. Vader was
redeemed, and slightly dead. :)

Here we have the family drama front and center, nothing hidden. It's not like
Vader at all, who was this menacing killer in ANH, this scheming and relentless
villain in ESB, who shockingly turned out to be the father of our hero!!

Ren is at the end of TFA a very simple character with some very understandable
and palpable depth to him. He is portrayed as a child, as a teen with
superiority complex, rebelling against his parents almost. With the events in
the latter part of the movie, this will change. He will come back darker,
angrier and better trained and a formidable foe to Luke - who will never give
up on him, which just may be his doom.

In the end, I want Luke to be as powerful, or more powerful than the emperor
and Yoda. But with the help of Snope and some Sith-steroids or some such (i.e.
some unknown way to boost his powers more than should be possible), Ren will
rise against him.

Might be Rey that saves the day in the end.
