Hi all,
This is probably a strange interest, but it directly relates to the fun a lot of us had gaming back in the 80's on our Commodore.
Kim Schuette played most of his games on an Apple II, but the information and hints that he came up with helped the entire gaming community.
I remember seeing volume 1 back in the 80's, but I was never fortunate enough to find one for myself until a few weeks ago.
I really enjoyed reading the introduction to the games, the maps, and the hints - even if I wasn't playing the game.
Looking back, he was probably one of the original 'gamers', and also a early inventor of what we call 'solutions manuals' today.
After doing a fairly extensive search online, I have found little, other than his two adventure game books, and references to them.
I found that he was interviewed in an Apple magazine called A+ in March 1987, but again, dead end finding anything else (like the magazine, or a scan of it).
It's possible that I've found his college yearbook (University of Colorado 1950-1951), but again, it may not be him after all..
As I've searched, I discovered that Kim was in his 50's in 1980, which makes it all the more interesting (at least to me) that this guy was finding games, solving them, drawing out all of the maps, and making a solutions manual. Just mapping Planetfall back in the day almost drove me nuts!
If anyone has any information to add, or happens to have the article from the A+ magazine, I'd love to read it!
Thanks, and game on!

Yep, appears to be the case if you read the customer review:

"Mia McCroskey, who worked on both books (she was the editor of the
second). She wrote:
“As I recall, Kim Schuette passed away a number of years ago. I think he
was probably in his sixties when he wrote these books. He was a kind,
quiet mannered man dedicated to reviewing every entry he could find in
the then nascent PC game world.”"
