I'd say that you guys have taken this too far. Despite using God Addy(tm)
to try to hide yourself they will have to release that information when
they're subpenaed by law enforcement as this constitutes Cyber-bullying.
There are plenty of IRC logs and forum posts to back this up.
Whoever did this needs to come forward and apologize then release the
domain to Robert Bernardo, for which the SDF Public Access UNIX System
will provide him with a free VHOST membership for the rest of his life.
He can then decide what to do with a domain name that uses his legal name.
If you're too chicken shit to come forward and admit you've done this,
don't worry, we'll find out who you are.

You realize that all of this you guys are doing is permanently logged
and will be stuck with you for your entire lives? Are you proud of it?
If you have a problem with Robert then take appropriate legal action
against him, not this way. And is there a problem with a homosexual
rabbit (or koala)? I don't think so. You lot are making yourself out
as right asses in front of the entire CBM scene. Robert does a heck of
a lot for the scene and does not deserved to be treated this way.

Sigh... I wouldn't be so sure about that.
I've been waiting about 18 months for an apology from Robert for slandering
me to the president of CCCC.
Lately, I've heard of a few other incidents in which he's done much the
same to other people.
I'm not condoning this website, but I can guess what provoked it.

I haven't seen anything either here, but maybe I didn't notice. Probably
it's the result of an IRC or real life bout some guys had with Robert
Bernardo. Some say bad publicity is still publicity, and probably some guy
who doesn't take himself that seriously could even laugh at it, anyway,
depending on each individual target, this kind of retaliation could be very
annoying and easily lead to a lawsuit, because this can be viewed as libel.
Domain By Proxy clearly states it won't protect the identity of that domain
owner if: a ) Violate the law or infringe a third party's trademark or
copyright; b) Engage in morally objectionable activities, including but not
limited to those which are child pornographic, defamatory, abusive,
harassing, obscene, racist, or otherwise objectionable.
So that domain is about defamation, abuse and harassing. If a lawsuit breaks
in, Domains By Proxy will release all the informations regarding who
actually paid for that domain, ftp logs, access logs, etc.
My question to those who did this is: don't you guys have better ways to
spend your money? What's really pathetic is your pulled money out of your
pockets to make this guy - whom you obviously can't stand - a victim,
potentially able to sue you and harm you.

Perhaps everything should be brought out in the open for the public to
scrutinize so we can all judge for ourselves.

I don't see what all the fuss is about. I'm not aware of any fueds
going on between CBM users other than the guy (can't think of his
name) who is always being slammed for not getting repair work done or
returning phone calls. I've never heard Robert's name mentioned with
any problems on this group.
As for the domain and the photo - I think it is hilarious. I don't
see any particular harm done. if somebody made a website like that
with my picture on it, I'd just laught my rear off. But that is the
trouble with practical jokes, everyone responds to the differently.
Some people think it is funny, while others are offended. You can't
please everyone.

Either does Robert, judging by the aplomb he displayed when the website
was mentioned in the IRC the other night. He seemed vaguely amused by the
parody and even commented that he was pleased to see that the website is
Wave friendly.

It's all down how seriously one takes himself. Some people aren't afraid of
jokes pointed occasionally at them, they just aren't that full of
themselves. I don't know Bernardo personally, but I guess that just proves
he's a smart guy.

I still think I have seen that picture before. I think it was displayed as a
poster on one of the tables at a C= show a while back. And a picture of the
poster was among the pictures of the show that were placed online.
Or maybe my memory is corrupted?
