Well, I'm starting the Hellcats novel, someone's got to read this
stuff, and it follows the movie, so far as the first chapter, except
this snippet of dialogue might be exagerated:

"All they know is satisfying their bodies. All they know is getting
drunk, taking dope, sleeping around with each other, male or female
or all together. That's all they feel. They've made themselves
outcasts of the world. They're dirty, they're life-wasters. They're
exactly what they call themselves -- Hellcats."

Here's some blurbs from the beginning and back of the book:

The HELLCATS

voluptuous girls --
eager to kill
and love -- only
the strongest man
could tame them

The only
topless motorcycle gang --
THE HELLCATS roar
across Southern California
leaving behind
a trail of sex, violence
and crime...

AN ODE TO THE HELLCATS

They who roar on magic steeds,
Often lack for golden deeds,
But carry lust and tender thoughts,
And kill and maim, and spawn and shove,
And yet their hearts are seeking love.

And those that die in lonely places,
Often with unknown faces,
Have lived and sped through life's rich byways,
And often cluttered up the highways.

But evil is not their stock in trade,
And shabby deeds their way,
Many who ride the thunderous steeds,
Are only out to play.

Evil is as evil does,
And many good things are done,
By those who ride and share no praise,
But can be anyone...

To Marilyn, with many fond memories, who started it all
all... for Woody and Hazel who had faith in me...
to George and Mary who encouraged and helped...
and to Tony, who gave me the chance... plus those
unforgettable hours spent on Sawmill Road and High
Lonesome that led to this book.

BIOGRAPHY

The Hellcats are a wild, sexy, ruthless, voluptuous
hang of female motorcycle hellions led by an in-
credibly beautiful girl named Sheila. This book,
based on factual accounts and actual people, is
about a man who ran with the Hellcats to gain re-
venge for the death of his brother, a narcotics agent
investigating the group. He tells how he is forced
to participate in degrading and destructive orgies
to gain favor with these tough females and how he
involves an innocent girl in these activities. He be-
comes a criminal to uncover the tentacles of a mas-
sive dope ring, but his life is irrevocably changed
forever as a result.

Robert F. Slatzer is not new to writing. He learned
his craft under the late Louis Bromfield. Later, at
the encouragement of Bob Hope, Mr. Slatzer came
to Hollywood where he specialized in publicity,
working closely with Marilyn Monroe -- who be-
came a very close friend. Robert F. Slatzer contin-
ued writing and directing television and motion
pictures after Marilyn's death. The Gemini-Ameri-
can production of THE HELLCATS -- released
through Crown International Pictures -- was writ-
ten and directed by him. The sound track from the
film (sung and played by Davy Jones and the Dol-
phins, and available on Tower Records) is certain
to be nominated as one of the year's best.
