13 hours to travel 16 miles? You can WALK from Torrance to Long Beach
faster.

Now, let's say they were taking the long coastal route:

http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1c=Torrance&1s=CA&2c=Lo ng+Beach&2s=CA#a/maps/l:::Torrance:CA::US:33.8358:-118.3 39699:city:Los+Angeles+County:1/l::+Palos+Verdes+Dr+S+:Ranch o+Palos+Verdes:CA::US:33.745208:-118.386207:::1/l::+E+Seasid e+Way+:Long+Beach:CA::US:33.765815:-118.187629:::1/m:::::0:: :::/io:1:::::f:EN:M:/e

Okay, 26 miles in 13 hours. A whole 2 MPH.

That's awesome!

Did the characters in the movie say "from Torrance to Long Beach," or
did Mike & the bots?

Uhm ... hm. Yes, they say it's going to Long Beach at about
4:10 into section two ...

Murray has a piece of equipment in Dawson at 7:10 into it.

I don't see an obvious reference to Torrance, though.

Um, they discuss having to ship the tripolodine from Torrance to Long Beach,
and Mike reacts, chuckling "13 hours from Torrance to Long Beach?!?!"

We know that our riffers mention "Torrance to Long Beach" (which, as
we all agree, are practically right next to each other).

We're wondering if the movie itself actually says that the starting
point is Torrance.

Do you have a URL to show us where the movie says "Torrance?"

Maybe it's like one of those cases where an actor says another actor's
real name, rather than the character's name. They could have been
using the Torrance to Long Beach area to stand in for some MUCH LONGER
TRIP ;-).

We'll get this PAPER-MÂCHÉ BEASTIE out of BRONSON CANYON if it
takes our last CHERRY-BOMB! :-)
