And any thoughts on downloading vs. having them ship the DVD? It
seems like, for the extra $5, it's less hassle to just let them send a
DVD, rather than downloading 4 gigs, burning it myself, using up my
own disc, and then permanently having my handwriting rather than a
nice label.

I just realized that it's more like $10 more to have the DVD shipped.
$9.99 vs. $20.02 for me here in California anyway.

That might be enough to tip me over to downloading it instead. That,
along with the fact that maybe it's actually in Cinematic Titanic's
best interest if they can create an ongoing series with as little
distribution cost as possible...? Any thoughts on that?

I've been meaning to buy it; I just haven't got around to it yet.
I'll almost certainly buy it as a DVD that they ship, though. I'm just
not comfortable for some reason in buying stuff that I just download,
though I have managed it a few times.

I was looking for a FAQ -- something to answer a couple of my
questions:

1. Can I somehow break up my 4GB download into multiple sessions if I
want?

2. When I burn the DVD, can I just copy the file(s) straight to a DVD
data disc? Or do I need to take an extra step with Nero to make sure
that the disc is a "DVD movie?"

I don't see the answers here:
http://www.cinematictitanic.com/wpmu/store_faq.html

or here:
http://cinematictitanic.com/wpmu/sf-forum/?forum=7&page= 1

Anyone have a link to another FAQ?

Here's one more link:

This FAQ doesn't really tell me much more than I already knew or
suspected, but it does give me the suggestion to download overnight.

(Note: Having them ship the DVD costs $10 more, here in California
anyway.)

Sorry to keep adding one nugget of info at a time, but I find that a
lot of the FAQs and explanations don't become visible until you
proceed through the actual purchase process.

FAQs:

And, finally, the info on the "EZTakes Download Manager":

http://www.eztakes.com/store/download/public/install_eddm.js p

It seems to have answered my questions:

>> 1. Can I somehow break up my 4GB download into multiple sessions if I
>> want?

The page says you can "Stop, start or pause downloads."

>> 2. When I burn the DVD, can I just copy the file(s) straight to a DVD
>> data disc? Or do I need to take an extra step with Nero to make sure

I think the EZTakes Download Manager also doubles as DVD-burning
software in some way... ?

I thought it started pretty strong, but then rather quickly thinned
out. In fact, I got fewer laughs out of it than "Santa Claus Conquers
the Martians", and they were under special constraints in that one. I
just think that this was a film that they *ought* to have been able to
do more with....

So, my current favorite is still "Legacy of Blood", which I'd rate as
being solidly on the MST3K scale of quality. The other episodes, not
so much, alas. IMHO, YMMV.

Here are some lines I enjoyed:

"You think the hunchbacks in Transylvania just stand outside the Home
Depot?" -Josh
"We now return to MR. BUBBLE'S BATHTUB OF FREAKS" -Frank [OK, this
might be worth the price right there ;-)]
"In those days, people could pass an ENTIRE EVENING hand-warming!" -
Frank
