There once was an article about booting ProDos succesfully on Franklins, and
such. Would the person(s) who know how to do this please either post it
again or mail to me directly? I have a real Apple, but a weird 16k card,
where the F8 ROM is probably different from Apple's. I understand ProDos
peeks somewhere > $F800 to see what you've got.
Thanks, in advance

Summary:
As far as I have heard, ProDOS looks into the high memory of the F8 ROM
and into the ROM on the DISK CONTROLLER. I was NOT under the impression
that it looked at (or could look at) the details of the 16k card, except
that it existed.
In order to use ProDOS with an Apple II clone, you would have to either
patch the places where it looks in the cards, or buy gen-u-ine apple
cards. Personally, I think this was not such a great decision on
Apple's part since it will deter the overall acceptance of ProDOS, but
then we've been over this before, haven't we?

Inscribed within a few bytes of the F8 Rom are the familar words
"APPLE II" ..... in keeping up with their promotional slogan of " forever "
if these bytes ( which are use at powerup time to display the above)
is changes to any other fruit (ie. ORANGE II, PINEAPPLE II, or AL BABY II)
Prodos will promptly exit.
