I post one every once in a while (last time was a couple of days ago).
Generally, you either use the raw Apple //e 80-column extended ROM,
which is not very satisfactory, or firmware built into some other
vendor's 80-column card, or a software terminal emulator program,
which often includes telecommunications and file transfer features.
Most such terminal emulators work with a termcap for a well-known
terminal type such as VT100.
