Except it's the "4th of May" in sensible countries that don't put their
dates backwards. :-p

Time for my annual old man grump. Today is to remember Glenn Miller,
Allison B. Krause, William Knox Schroeder, and Sandra Lee Scheuer. Plus
nine wounded, one of whom, Dean R. Kahler, was paralyzed for life.

No. One is correct English and one is backwards American. :-p

Meh, it's just a wordplay. After all, they don't say 'The Force (of) may
be with you' in the movies. (Well, maybe Yoda does. :-)

It is word play, but based on the backwards American date, so it
doesn't work anywhere else in the world that uses correct dates. Same
with the silly "Pi Day" and the other wordplays based on dates.

Just when I thought you couldn't do worse, you went ahead and ruined Pi
Day as well. ;-)

Americans can't even keep it consistent themselves ... they insist on
using backwards dates everywhere, but then make a movie with a correct
date called "Born on the Fourth of July" based on a biography book of
the same name. :-\

Maybe the author of the book wanted to write in Her Majesty The Queen's
English?

In America, for some stupid reason, that particular day (being
Independence Day) is usually phrased using the correct date format,
rather than their own backwards format. I just heard Katie Perry's
"Firework" song on the radio, which also includes the lyric "the fourth
of July".
