Howdy:
Back in the late ‘90s when I started using Macs into the early 2000s, I went through a period of massive accumulation of old Apple hardware and software. I gathered up around 60 or 70 Apple computers, as well as a bunch of Apple monitors, printers, externals and accessories. I retired a few years ago and now have time to sort through, organize, repair, etc.
Today I found an SE/30 that someone had opened up and removed the HD, floppy drive, and memory. They apparently lost the case screws and resorted to masking tape to close it up. In addition to the missing components, this poor machine has the worst case of battery and capacitor leakage I’ve ever seen. (I had just learned about exploding PRAM batteries the other day but had never seen it.) If it’s even repairable, it would require way more skill and patience than I have.
As bad as it is, I’d hate to see it end up at the electronics recycler. If anyone wants to take on this monumental task, it’s available for the cost of shipping plus $10 for shipping supplies.
Let me know if you’re interested. If you have any questions or would like to see some pictures email me.
Regards,
Jerry Roahrig
