“Dagashi Kashi 2” is a sequel to the odd anime from a while back about teens in a rural snack shop in Japan. The first season was often funny and sometimes amusingly erotic. The second season is a disappointment in comparison.
The new season is produced by a new animation company and has a new director. Each episode is also 12 minutes in length compared to the 24 minute length episodes of the first season. However, each episode still has two parts to it, which means that there is now no time to develop the sort of atmosphere that made the first season something other than just a collection of gags and product descriptions.
I'll watch another episode to see if it improves, but if it doesn't recapture some of the feel of the first season I probably won't bother with more.
