Since repeated attempts at mailing have failed, and the subject is of
potential wider interest anyway, I am posting a response to the request:
> Does any one out there know anything about a book entitled
> "DE RE ATARI" ??? How can I get one? Who published it?
> Etc.? I understand it is a very good reference for basic

I ran out and bought mine a year and a fraction ago, when they were obviously
unloading the 800 line. The local technical bookstore was unable to get
delivery on it then, so I went directly to Arari's APX - I had a catalog
then - and got it by mail. Seems to me, it was $19.95 or the like, but I
wouldn't bet on it.
If you can still contact them, it is certainly worth getting - it is all I
have ever heard said about it plus quite a bit more.
If they claim it can't be bought any more, see if they will agree - in
writing - for you to make a copy of an existing one, for free or for a
nominal fee. If they will, I'll be glad to work something out with you. It
is an absolute 'must have' reference.
An aside: the other 'must have' is their "ATARI Home Computer System Technical
Reference Notes, includes: Operating System User's Manual, Operating System
Source Listing, and Hardware Manual". Same source, 500 or so pages of
EVERYTHING KNOWN by the developers about the HW/SW!!! I remember it at
maybe $29.95, but wouldn't bet on that memory either.
