    A recently read book that I recommend is THE ARMAGEDDON RAG by George R. R.
Martin. The protagonist, Sandy Blair, is a former journalist/editor of an
underground tabloid called HEDGEHOG. He is called by his former publisher to
investigate the ritual murder of a famous rock promoter. The murder seems to
be tied in with a former super-group of the '60s, The Nazgul, one of whose
members was killed by a sniper at a concert back in '72. Blair eventually
crosses the path of someone who wishes to reunite the Nazgul (all four of them,
even though one is dead) in order to use their inflammatory lyrics to rekindle
the revolutionary movement of the late '60s.
    Anyone who likes a different sort of supernatural horror story and/or grew
up with rock music of the '60s should enjoy this book. It's quite a bit differ-
ent from Martin's usual stuff; his work is almost always deadly serious, but
in this novel he has a lot of fun (there's even a couple of hidden references
for fans of Martin's work).
