    Stewart Weiner:

I don't know a hell of a lot about ST3:tsfs, but what I have heard is that
Nimoy is only directing the film, not starring in it (of course, if it were to
be made known at this time that he was starring in it, everyone would know that
Spock was indeed alive, so you can't really go by that). I've heard nothing
about Khan returning, though Mark Lenard has been signed on to play Sarek. Rumor
has it that there is to be a big space battle with the Klingons or Romulans,
but I haven't heard any conformation on that. Kirstie Allie (sp?) has been
dropped from the cast; she apparently got too uppity and wanted more money.
Saavik fans, however should note that some other actress has been signed up
to play Saavik, and one source says that she bears a fairly close resemblence to
Kirstie Allie.
