to plug the tv cable to a scart adapter and nothing. So I soldered a cable
based on this schematics
(http://www.c64.priv.no/c64/files/docs_hw_avconnect.txt) to use the monitor
port.. again plugged the video and audio jacks into the scart adapter and
nothing appeared. Any clue?

First check the fuse inside the machine. The LED is before the fuse,
thus it always lits if the power supply is at least partly okay.

Depends on how "old" the 64 is. With the BN/E (later, narrow) board
revisions you can work even without the fuse, albeit without sound and
tape... ;-)

any poke I can write to generate a sound? (so that I can check if the
machine is working). I don't have a disk drive nor a cassette recorder at
the moment.

You probably have already checked this, but is the monitor working?

Well, you could try to set the volume, normally that would generate some
spike on the speakers or something.. try switching between poke
54296.0 and poke 54296,15 (you should hear a tick over the speakers) (at
least, I think these are the volume setting pokes.. has been over 10
years since I last used them)

The SID needs 9VAC as well, so that might be the reason.

In the unlikely event that you find that your SID CHIP is bad, feel
free to contact me regarding a suitable replacement. I have at least 4
on hand (that I have seen with my eyes that is) lolo..

Actually SCRATCH THAT! I just noticed that you mentioned that it HAS NO
SCREEN ON POWER UP!

DOH!

Try checking the memory chips, then the PLA (VERY LIKELY). Then if
nothing, then try the 901226 and 901227 (BASIS & KERNAL) chips. Then if
still nothing, then check the 8701 (CLOCK) and the 6567 (VIC). ONE HAS
TO BE THE PROBLEM!!

Whichever it is, I HAVE THEM ALL IN STOCK if you need them. :):):):)
