A couple of quick notes tonight. I have a couple of Teac 55A slim
line mini floppies on my old LNW-80 and I discovered today that
they will do more than 40 tracks. I got some software in that had
been written on a 42 track drive, and by gosh, the Teacs could
read them. I don't know how far in the drives could be pushed,
but at least they were able to go in a couple extra tracks. This
little tidbit my help someone else someday. Let's hear it for
over design and the folks at Teac.
The other little tidbit is a kudo for "Super Utility +".
One of the disk I got today had an unreadable sector. Where else,
but the HIT table in the directory. SU+ was able to copy the disk
anyway. Then I used it to correct the the DAM bit which was bad
and rebuild the HIT table. Another dead disk brought back to life.
So, hats off to SU+. It doesn't get used often, but when you need
it, you really NEED it.
