Hey darkman, (RE: Who is selling Duos these days)
Before junking your Duo, maybe try these: First, get a lens cleaning cloth
from a camera store, and very gently wipe off the lens of your Duo. Second,
if you can disassemble your Duo easily, and safely, use just a little
graphite on any little gears that move the lens assembly. I don't have a
Duo, but on some older CD-based systems there is a steel bar that the lens
assembly travels across, graphite that too. Careful not to get any on the
lens. Also try looking at the lens with a magnifying lens under good light,
you should be able to see if it is scratched. This may sound odd, but this
has saved my CD32 console many times, and my hunch is that the compressed
air may have blown crud into the gears of the lens assembly. Good Luck!
