I just watched an episode of Filter on G4.. It was the episode
showcasing the 10 worst games of all time. Nothing from the PCE/TG on
it :-). They also had a short segment interviewing people about the
worst hardware of all time. Pretty much everything that came up in the
off-topic discussion a few days back was mentioned, but not the TG/TD.
I figure either it wasn't a relative failure, or these people hadn't
even ever heard of the TG :-)

as far as favorite CDs...
1) Ys 1&2
2) Ys IV (I might have swapped this with 1&2 if my Japanese
comprehension were better)
3) Splash Lake (I probably play this more than any other)

Most of my other CDs are anime franchise games. Since, as I mentioned,
mj Japanese comprehension is somewhat lacking (I can only understand
maybe 80% at most of the dialoge at the start of Ys IV), some of those
games are nearly impossible for me to play (the "digital comic" type
games in particular are extremely difficult). I think the only other
CDs I have are the 4-in-1, Winds of Thunder, and Strider. Strider's not
bad but I've lost enthusiasm for arcade translations since I got into
MAME and collecting them.

The cover artwork can't be the only good thing about Sylphia. It's a
great game too, and worthy of making it into the favorites list.

1. Cosmic Fantasy 2 (well, it's like my all-time favorite game. Maruga nuts!!!)

2. Dragon Slayer (I bought this game a LONG time ago on a total whim. It turned
out to by one of my fave's. It holds a bit more nostalgia for me than Ys I & II
does for various reasons.)

3. Ys I & II (I've played through this game so many times. When I first
got it I used to just sit there and let the intro play sometimes. Granted, it was my
first TG-CD game, but man did that song & intro rock.)

1. Dungeon Explorer 2 - I've always been a sucker for solidly built
multiplayer co-op games, and this was by far the best of those in the RPG
genre before PSO went splitscreen. Add to that one of my favorite
soundtracks EVER and outstanding voice work by Working Designs and you have
my favorite Duo CD game.

2. Ys I and II - let's face it... this game almost by itself legitamized the
CD format for console games and paved the way for digital media to take over.
A remake of a 1987 game, the story is still more coherent than what some of
the big RPG companies put out today. Sound Team JDK's tunes always help out,
too.

3. Dracula X - It was hard ranking these three games since I love all of
them so much. This game brought together all of the best elements from old
Castlevania games to make the best game in the series until Konami decided to
turn it into Metroid (that's not a complaint - Symphony of the Night is
another favorite of mine).

I'm wanting to buy a PC-FX system, preferably with box and instructions
but not required, possibly with a game as well. If you have one for
sale, please email me. Thanks.
